Interests:I've been on xanga since I was a sophomore in High School. WOW! It's been six years since I've started blogging on xanga. It's 05/17/09 and at the moment, I'm at HSW as a RN. I've had the same Hayden Christensen layout for a long time now, but I'll change it whenever. I like this quote by Albert Einstein: “Only a life lived for others is a life worth while.” Live life to the fullest!
I viewed my last entry on this day and I was at work during the night shift. I was writing about how quiet the night shift was compared to the day shift. This year, I worked the day shift and IT WAS NOT QUIET.
1) Woke up at 4:40a.m. to get a head start on the drive to work. It usually takes me 35mins. It took me 1 hour. It took me 3 hours to go home yesterday night. Snow---beautiful, but is deadly. Seriously, it was crazy driving last night. There were abandoned cars on the road and ice everywhere. Plus, maybe if I didn't try to find a new route and ended up in the darkness of the middle of now where, I would have made it home in possibly an hour. 2) Yesterday, I had to call the surgery department to send me up some scrub pants b/c NGT crap fell on me. (sigh) 3) I met a human version of speak. I'm serious: same motor skills (including tongue action), garbled speech, and physical attributes. I can't really write any details, BUT it was REALLY Spike as a human. 4) Out of the 5 patients I had, three of them needed STAT EKGs. One happened at the end of shift simultaneously while my new patient was rolling down the hallway. Too bad you can't time chest pains or heart rhythm changes. 5) PCU is a jungle! I didn't mind getting floated today b/c that would mean I would get float pay + holiday pay. But, it was too, too crazy for me. You'd think the day would go fast, but it was torture. Perhaps b/c my sinus allergies had been at its peak all day and I was lethargic and tired from yesterday. 6) It's Christmas. Chill.
I think I'm gonna take me some antihistamines and sleep for a good twelve hours. (sigh). Last year, I probably thought, "What would I be doing next year?" Well, here's to next Christmas...
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”- Isaiah 9:6
I am currently at work. As I was at a patient's room, I saw the snow falling. It's just beautiful =). I want to go outside and just stick my tongue out and catch all the snowflakes. Actually, I want to capture one and preserve it like what they did on the Big Bang Theory episode. I hope the snow doesn't make driving dangerous, but a co-worker gave me some advice how to drive.
Yesterday, I tried running around campus but I was mostly walking. MAN, I need to get back into my exercise regime.
“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.”- Luke 2:16-20
I haven't put up a picture blog in a while. PLUS, I'm kinda lazy to write everyting. I'm tired from driving four and a half hours back to Keene from Houston. Which reminds me, I need to work on two things (1) Stop throwing fits when you have to do something you don't want to do i.e. drive my car to Houston (2) Be more patient. I guess those can be my Resolutions. Anyways, my mom came up for graduation. I think my brother had school and my dad was going off shore, but at least he called me. I'll get to see them all next week. Whoo!
YES. BSN. FINALLY. THANK GOD.
I have a friend named Jenelyn. She makes me laugh even without trying, LOL. Her face makes me laugh in this picture. We were at a towing place for two hours. SERIOUSLY, I will never park at a handicapped place. AND, this experience has taught me to be organized with my car information. We went to Houston this weekend for our FIRST annual Christmas celebration. I got what I wanted for Christmas. Thanks Jenelyn! She was my secret santa.
We also made a "remix" of Iyaz's REPLAY with Jenelyn's Mac. Evanette is missing b/c she was asleep. This was totally random =). This trip was great--a very much needed break and a new environment. (sigh). Being back at my own apartment does feel good, too. SHAWTY!
Christmas is coming soon!!!!!
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”- Luke 2:8-1
I graduated on Thursday. It was great. I praise GOD for helping me defeat the bears. PRAISE GOD! It seriously amazes me how much effort I put into studying and how MUCH God pulls me through. I don't understand it, but I know I cannot slack of anymore.
After graduation, we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings and then watched Avatar in Arlington. I SERIOUSLY want to live in Pandora. They had these jelly-fish like things that were so cool and the alien girl kept doing this scowl that I do. Yup, I'm a navi, lol.
I'm in Houston right now ant Jenelyn's apartment. Everyone is probably asleep and here I am writing a blog. Yesterday, I had to be designated driver. It was a fun experience, lol. We went to Beaumont church today and the ride over there was long. They had a riveting Christmas program. I like to see church members participate. It just helps the church from being lukewarm. Fire it up, Holy Spirit!
We're going shopping tomorrow. Goal: Get a size small in the jacket I bought from Forever 21. Hmmm, I think I found my entertainer tonight. Thanks God.
John 14:6--Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
It seems apparent that the effects of eating at Rosa's for Taco Tuesday has ceased! I have remained awaked. In about eight hours, I take my last final for this semester and then I shall walk to the sounds of the graduation march, again. No one really reads these, but I'll post an invite on here anyway:
SOMEONE ENLIGHTEN ME. SOMEONE ENTERTAIN ME. =/. Why do people seem so boring? Maybe I'm just losing it, lol. Maybe I'm just looking for something new. Where is my light??
(sigh). Back to studying.
“And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name.”- Luke 1:46-47, 49
